Note
This species is characterised by its fruiting calyx which has the posterior lobe only slightly broader than the 4 anterior lobes. Within the region studied the species has long been known under the name Coleus esquirolii (Levl.) Dunn but this name is a synonym of Plectranthus parishii Hook. f., an earlier little-used name. The original description mostly matches the latter species but the distributions are disjunct.
