Calyx deeply divided into 5 subequal often recurved segments.

Corolla outside with long curly glossy hairs all over; basal tube linear, long, widening into a short indistinct throat; limb distinctly 2-lipped, upper lip strongly falcate and laterally flattened, with 2 minute apical teeth, lower lip subcircular in outline, longitudinally plicate with 2 lateral parts folded over and ± covering central part, with 3 minute lobes, without conspicuous pattern of transverse differently coloured lines ('herring-bones').
