Morphology General Habit
Geophyte; rootstock tuberous, up to c. 10 × 5 cm, producing c. 4 stems to 5 cm long, spreading at ground level.

Leaves clustered at stem apices, sessile, c. 3.5 × 2.5 cm, obovate, reddish, glabrous to sparsely hairy on the upper surface, with scattered cartilaginous hairs c. 0.75 mm long on the lower surface; margin ± crisped and densely fringed with short hairs.
