Gynostegial corona lobes alternating with the corolla lobes, mostly of two types; type A (fig 91.1) comprising an erect, dorsally compressed, ± quadrate basal part with peaked, square or sloping shoulders, the apex produced into an attenuate tooth, ventral face with two faint vertical wings or ridges running into an appendage similar to the apical tooth of the main lobe; type B (fig. 91.2) with basal part of lobe ± as in type A but with truncate apex, apical tooth absent, ventral surface with two often well-developed vertical ridged running into an inflexed appendage
