Note
There has been quite some confusion within the group around C. zollingeri and tenuiculmis. C.B. Clarke described C. zollingeri var. parvus on the basis of small plants with narrow leaves, a much depauperated umbel and dull-coloured hardly yellow spikelets. This variety has been regarded as a synonym for tenuiculmis ever since, but I think it is better taken as a synonym for zollingeri.
