Morphology General Habit
Perennial up to 60 cm tall, slender to robust, with ± 10–15 mm thick bulbs and slender stolons.

Culms few to tufted, 18–53 cm long, 1.1–2.3 mm wide, triquetrous to trigonous, smooth

Leaves many at the base, up to 34 cm long. Leaf sheath brown, 2–6.5 cm long. Leaf blade linear, flat to folded, 19–28 cm long, 1.6–5.7 mm wide, glabrous to minutely scabrid on the margins, apex acuminate

Conservation
Least Concern (LC) due to its wide distribution and common habitat.
Note
The two specimens from Kenya are slightly smaller then those from the Tanzania region.
