Perennial (annual fide Balle) creeping mainly epiphytic herb, 10–40 cm. long, sometimes forming mats; stems filiform, sparsely pubescent, rooting at the nodes.

Leaves alternate, round, elliptic or oblate, 0.2–1.2 cm. long and wide, rounded or emarginate at the apex, rounded to cuneate at the base, fleshy, ± lenticular, convex or plane above, strongly convex beneath, sparsely pubescent or pilose, ciliate, palmately 3-nerved or nerves not visible; petiole 0.1–0.5(–1)(–1.3 in America) cm. long, slender, glabrous.
