Morphology General Habit
Annual herb 0.5–2.5 m high; stem purplish, branched above, sparsely pilose to glabrous.

Leaves narrowly deltoid in outline, bipinnatifid to pinnately 3–5-partite, 3.5–10.5 cm long, 2.5–7.5 cm wide, segments rhomboidally ovate or lanceolate, dentate, scabrid-pubescent above, pubescent beneath, glandular-punctate.

Capitula terminal, in lax cymes; peduncle to 5.5 cm long; involucre 5–7 mm long; outer phyllaries 8–10, hispid, inner phyllaries 8, orange, sparsely pubescent or glabrous; paleae to 8 mm long.
